Caravan Park with a river
Wildlife in their natural environment living amongst a caravan park in the Yarra Valley
Koalas live at the Yarra Valley Caravan Park

Koalas live at the park and will happily remain in their tree above your site BUT people should keep a safe distance, never feed them, and ensure dogs are always under control. We love our Koalas!

Little Yarra River forms our boundary (but is Melbourne Water property like all rivers in VIC) - it is not a river you can “swim” or “tube” in but rather one for lounging and cooling off. Its crystal clear and beautiful. Just remember that we are in a natural setting and you have to be aware of snakes near the river too! It is NOT supervised by the park and YOU are responsible for your safety and that of your group.

Kangaroos and Wallabies also live at the park. They will come out of the bush and graze at dawn and dusk BUT again, people should keep a safe distance, never feed them, and ensure dogs are always under control (or Skippy will get Sonny to ask Jerry to bring the helicopter!)

Map of Yarra Junction and surrounding areas highlighting attractions and travel times including Healesville, Warburton, Dandenong Ranges, Gipsland, CBD, and bushwalks.

Located in Yarra Junction - as the name suggests we are at the crossroad of multiple holiday choices:

  • Warburton (including the new world class Mountain Bike Park, Redwood Forest and Mt Donna Buang) are just minutes away.

  • Victoria’s premier wine (micro-brewery and distillery) region is less than 25 minutes drive.

  • It’s the transit town for Gippsland and Mt Baw Baw onward travel, and;

  • Only 30 minutes drive from Lilydale train station where you can park and take a metro train direct to Melbourne CBD.

  • …all within minutes of supermarkets, service stations, community swimming pool and fitness centre, restaurants, markets, shops and more!

Set on over 8 acres of sunny, beautiful, quintessentially Australian land - stay with resident Koalas, Kangaroos and other wildlife on much larger than usual power/water sites and gloriously spacious and sunny unpowered grass sites.

This is an “old school” caravan park. Big sites, basic but spotless amenities (bathrooms, laundry, camp kitchen), no jumping pillow or pool but open space and a gorgeous small river as the boundary (“Little Yarra River”) - teeming with life (but too small for “swimming” or “tubing” - think lazing and picnics with a lovely backdrop.

If you enjoyed the simplicity and affordability of caravanning and camping in the 60’s and 70’s… or you see your grandparent’s photos and yearn for that simplicity - we are the park for you!

There are multiple Koalas (and Kangaroos, Echidnas and Wombats that live in the Yarra Valley Caravan Park.

Why choose us?

Our many furry guests (who don’t pay their tree fees) will tell you the park is owned by people who care for them and the beautiful environment the park is set in.

The park has a long history… but this chapter will be its finest!

Owned by two local families who believe in old school hospitality and generous spaces to enjoy carefree holidays.

The park has undergone a renovation and is now open (January 2026).

Modern caravan parks feel jam-packed. Small sites and people everywhere. We’ve decided to NOT be that! Instead, we want you to feel that this park is like the one your grandparents used to take you to - Lots of space. Room to relax and enjoy your break.

Our powered sites are all minimum 10 x 8 metres and our unpowered sites are spaced out more like bush camping… lots of space between designated spots. Set on over 8 acres we share the space with Koalas, Kangaroos, Wombats, Deer, Rabbits, myriad birds and more…

Whilst you’ll feel a million miles away… you’ll actually only be 5 minutes from supermarkets, shops, hotels, nature attractions PLUS we are the closest accommodation to the world class Warburton Mountain Bike Park trail head at Wesburn Park.
